José María Segura, general director of the project, assumes the change with the "dizziness of the challenge" although he shows his satisfaction at being able to respond to the demands of the students. The historic radio station Radio Ecca is transformed into an innovative online educational platform, ecca.edu, adapting to the new needs of an increasingly digital society that seeks distance training in new media such as the Internet. José María Segura, general director of the project, assumes the change with the "dizziness of the challenge" although he shows his satisfaction at being able to respond to the demands of the students. Six decades at the service of training Since its beginnings in 1965 and faithful to its mission of providing quality education to all people, especially those most vulnerable, radio has been the cornerstone that has allowed the purpose of this organization to be fulfilled. Since its creation almost six decades ago, and in constant dialogue with the reality of the Canary Islands, ECCA has been reinventing itself to be able to respond to a world in constant change and has continuously adapted to take advantage of the opportunities that the digital era offers to his students. In a context where digital has taken on an immense role, ECCA announces the closure of its radio broadcast as of June 30, coinciding with the end of the academic year, thus consolidating its evolution towards new educational formulas and in accordance with technological advances.

That have driven significant changes in the field of training. A deep digital transformation In response to this evolution, Radio ECCA has embraced the digital platform as a powerful training tool and to bring new opportunities to an increasingly wider audience. Over time, this support has assumed a central role in the educational process, providing new ways of learning and enriching the experience of students who prefer to follow their classes online to the detriment of the radio. Although this fact marks the end of a stage, ECCA remains alive and immersed Europe Mobile Number List in a profound transformation, to adapt its mission to today's world. Challenges of the 21st century The culmination of this digitalization process came on February 15 with the launch of the ecca.edu digital platform, which marks a milestone in the history of the historic entity by presenting a new website, new brand and new innovative support. With all this, the aim is to face the challenges of the 21st century and offer quality training adapted to the needs of today's Canarian society. The objective, from now on, is to continue improving the digital platform and invest in technology, so that students have access to an optimal, accessible and intuitive learning experience, implementing the best technological tools and cutting-edge artificial intelligence, making an effort to become a benchmark in digital education at the service of the entire.

Canarian society and maintain its commitment to leaving no one behind. A Greenpeace report warns that “there is no water for so much irrigation” The lack of water is one of the great problems of the 21st century |  Photo: Pixabay The lack of water is one of the great problems of the 21st century | Photo: Pixabay Taking advantage of the fact that Saturday, June 17, is the Day against Desertification and Drought, the environmental organization wants to draw attention to the fact that Spain has less and less water. The environmental organization Greenpeace warns in a report titled "The irrigation bubble in Spain" of the problems of desertification and drought that Spain has been suffering. He points out that science warns that our country will have less and less water, while irrigation has increased by 16 percent. The report highlights that even with reservoirs at 47 percent, hydrological planning for the coming years includes increases in irrigation in basins such as Ebro, Duero, Guadiana or Segura. Likewise, it indicates that 16.2 percent of irrigation is in areas with aquifers in poor condition or vulnerable to nitrates and 3.7 percent of that irrigation is in areas where the climate has already changed. "We have scarce, contaminated and poorly managed water, something that we cannot afford and less and less," the report states. For this reason, within its "Save the Water" campaign, Greenpeace presents the report "The irrigation bubble in Spain" with data, prepared by the Sustainability Observatory, that warns about the oversized irrigation in this country. In just over a decade, surface water reserves have decreased by about 10 percentage points on average and will continue to decrease, according to science, due to the effects of climate change.
